Mint Julep

I've been making bitters faster than I can taste-test them, but I finally got the chance to try out my new cucumber bitters.

As with A Dark Day on Broadway, this recipe is courtesy of "Handcrafted Bitters" by Will Budiaman.

The Mint Julep, a classic drink for warm summer evenings. Cooling and refreshing with lots of room for experimentation.

1/2 oz simple syrup

~15 mint leaves

3 dashes cucumber bitters

3 dashes Angostura bitters

Combine and muddle in highball glass.

2 oz bourbon

1/2 glass crushed ice

Stir until glass is frosted.

Top with ice as needed, and soda water or Sprite for a little fizz.

Garnish with a mint sprig.
