Cardamom isn't a flavor I expected to find in drinks, but both the Old Fashioned and the Rye Buck make excellent use of this flavor.

There are almost as many variations on the Old Fashioned as there are bartenders to make them, and muddling fruit in the drink is a controversial option, but it's always been my favorite way to make them.
1 sugar cube (or barspoon of white sugar)
2 dashes Cardamom bitters
1 maraschino cherry
1/2 orange wheel
2 ounces Rye Whiskey
Soak/dissolve the sugar with the bitters, then muddle the cherry and orange.
Add ice and whiskey and stir until chilled.
Garnish with an orange slice.
