Continuing the theme of sweet creamy drinks, this week's drink is the humorously named Pink Squirrel.
1/2 oz White Creme de Cacao (chocolate liqueur)
1/2 oz Creme de Almond
1/2 oz Grenadine
2 oz Cream
Shake with ice and strain into a rocks glass over ice. Garnish with a cherry.
The recipe I learned didn't have Grenadine, and on making it there wasn't any pink in my drink. Plus the cherry flavor of grenadine complements the almond and chocolate quite well. I also used Amaretto rather than creme de Almond, but that's purely personal preference. It is important to use white (or clear) creme de cacao, as using brown wouldn't get you your pink drink!
